Overview: The Bridges of Madison County follows the story of Francesca Johnson (Meryl Streep), an Italian-American housewife living in rural Iowa during the 1960s. When a National Geographic photographer, Robert Kincaid (Clint Eastwood), arrives in town to photograph the local covered bridges, an unexpected and passionate love affair unfolds between them.
