What did Erling Haaland say about breaking the most goals scored in a Premier League season record?
After calmly chipping the ball over the goalkeeper to secure City’s 3-0 win, the stadium erupted into deafening cheers.
Haaland was given a guard of honour by teammates as he left the field to a standing ovation from fans.
In an interview with Sky Sports presenter David Jones after the game, Haaland said:
“I will go home and play some video games, have some food, sleep and then tomorrow I will come in and think about Leeds. This is my life.”
On Instagram, he shared a post with his 28.6 million followers, he said:
“35 Premier League goals. A big thank you to everyone for the support, nothing happens without you all, we don’t stop here!”
Shearer, who still holds the league’s all-time record with 260 goals, congratulated Haaland on Twitter.
