PSG want to offload the Brazilian
Neymar’s high salary has become a problem for Paris Saint-Germain, who are willing to offload the Brazil international this summer.
No PSG player earns more than their star, Kylian Mbappe, but the Frenchman is followed by Neymar on the list with the team’s highest earners.
According to L’Equipe, Leo Messi comes third in terms of highest salary within the club and in Ligue 1 too. His contract is set to come to an end in a few months and the two parties have yet to reach an agreement on a potential renewal.
While Messi is weighing his options, PSG are trying present an contract extension offer that would help them comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play.
However, this is anything but simple. Neymar earns 3,675,000 million per month, while Messi makes 3,375,000m euros, with highest earner Mbappe getting 6,000,000m euros.
Messi has attracted interest from the MLS and Saudi Arabia, while a return to Barcelona has not been ruled out.
As for PSG, they are aware that Neymar’s injury means that they will struggle to find potential suitors should they put him up for sale in the summer.
