Real Madrid have cut off all contacts with PSG, no negotiations for Mbappe

Rumours linking Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid have started to do the rounds once again, despite how things went down last summer.

Mbappe, it was believed, was close to signing for the Merengues, but the Frenchman made a last-minute swerve and decided to renew with PSG, leaving Real Madrid red-faced in the process.

But, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is not too happy in Paris, with murmurs of frustration and disenchantment doing the rounds for a while now. On top of that, Mbappe’s contract expires next year, which has only added fuel to the possibility of a move to Real Madrid.

But, according to a report from MARCA, Real Madrid have cut off all contacts with PSG and there are no negotiations taking place for Mbappe.

The 24-year-old’s current contract with PSG runs out in the summer of 2024, although there is an option to extend it by one more year. However, it can be done only with the consent of the player and unilaterally by the club.

It has paved the way for speculations about a move from Real Madrid for Mbappe either this summer or next year, when he would be free, provided he does not sign a new contract.

PSG, for their part, have reportedly asked Mbappe to make a decision on his contract and inform the club by May so that they can plan ahead.

However, if Real Madrid are not having any sort of contacts or negotiations with PSG for Mbappe, it seems clear that a move in the upcoming summer transfer window is very much off the table at the moment.

Only time will tell if Los Blancos will look to go after the FIFA World Cup 2022 Golden Boot winner next summer, if he becomes available for free.
