Mbappe opened the scoring in PSG’s 3-1 victory over Brest, in the round of 16 of the French National Cup. The French striker scored his 30th goal for PSG in all competitions this season, becoming the first person to reach the above milestone at the club level in the 2023/24 season.
Mbappe also had 7 assists for PSG in all competitions, directly contributing to 37 goals after 29 appearances for the French capital club. No striker in the top 5 European national leagues has better numbers than Mbappe.
Including the national team level, the spearhead born in 1998 scored 36 goals and had 13 assists. With the 2023/24 season only entering early February, Mbappe is likely to continue to conquer new records.
Another striker who is closely following Mbappe in the scoring race in Europe is Harry Kane. The former Tottenham star also contributed to 36 Bayern Munich goals since the beginning of the season. The English striker has 28 goals and 8 assists after 27 appearances at the club level.
Both Kane and Mbappe closed 2023 with 52 goals, 2 goals less than Cristiano Ronaldo. However, both of these strikers playing in Europe have had an impressive start to 2024. Mbappe scored 6 goals in just over a month at the beginning of the year, while Kane also had 3 goals.
